Innovative Rising Stars: Using Technology To Transform Lives

Who are the emerging powers – five women who are using technology to blow up social change? Not household names, but women the world needs to know about? Those are the questions I asked Rose Stuckey Kirk, president of the Verizon Foundation, and a power woman who is all about disrupting the status quo to create positive actions. Rose leads the $76M operation’s philanthropy strategy that goes beyond charitable contributions to deliver innovative technology solutions to transform lives by solving pressing problems in:

– Education: Improving STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) instruction and learning through the increased and effective use of mobile technologies.

– Healthcare: Eliminate healthcare disparities, improve access and enable better chronic disease outcomes through technology.

– Energy Management: Deploying technologies in underserved communities to help households make better energy decisions that help them save money.

Rose’s advice to all game-changers in a tweet: Innovation in #STEM is the future. Use your talents to help solve pressing problems and accelerate social change for a better world
