If you’re stalling to go to the gym, the first step is often changing into gym clothes (or more specifically, putting on gym shorts). When the timer hits zero, commit to taking that first step. The reason this works is because it gives us a clear starting point. When you can start “anytime,” you’ll often choose to procrastinate.
